About Us
Our Story: A Legacy of Holiday Magic
Our journey began in 1970, when Frenchie Richards became one of the first shopkeepers to open in the newly renovated Charleston City Market. A proud native Charlestonian, Frenchie has spent over five decades not only building a business but actively contributing to the heart of the Lowcountry through her leadership, dedication to local artists, and extensive involvement in the community and her church.
Initially launched as an antique consignment store, the shop evolved beautifully over time. Frenchie began introducing accessory gifts, which naturally paved the way for a selection of holiday treasures. For years, our Christmas collection was a seasonal highlight, until a pivotal relationship with a sales representative from Kurt S. Adler encouraged Frenchie to embrace Christmas year-round. It was a leap of faith that proved to be exactly the right direction.
In 1991, Frenchie incorporated the business as Light Be Charleston Corner Inc., and "Noah's Nook" was born. As our focus on fine holiday decor deepened, we rebranded in 2011—coinciding with another major renovation of the Charleston City Market—to become Charleston Christmas Collectibles, a name that truly reflects our passion.
Today, as we celebrate 56 years in business, we are proud to continue this legacy. While Frenchie remains the heart and owner of the company, her granddaughter, Brittany Wilson, now leads the day-to-day operations. Together, we are honored to remain a beloved staple of the Charleston community, bringing joy and a little bit of holiday wonder to our visitors every single day of the year.
